11 Jan 2003, Slim's, San Francisco, CA, USA

Another great visit to San Francisco from the Dregs! This must be the 7th straight year Steve has played at Slim's with either the Steve Morse Band or the Dixie Dregs, I have seen most of the them! This show was a good one, Eric McFadden opened with his trio, Eric on acoustic guitar, drummer, and a stand-up bassist. They played about 45 min. of blues and jazzy tunes, good stuff.

Then the Dregs took the stage. I was right up front, within a foot or two of Steve Morse (and the pole next to us!). Great stuff, everyone played well, Rod was awesome on the drums, Dave played with great bass feel, T had some great exchanges with Steve, as did Jerry. They sounded good for the 2nd show of the tour. They played about 1 1/2 hours. My friend Scott wrote down the setlist, thanks to him for this part!

Setlist at Slim's was:

Assembly Line
Kat Food
Goin' To Town
Odyssey
Good Intentions
Brick Chicken
Hereafter
Justice For All
Shapes Of Things
Divided We Stand
Meeting Of The Spirits
The Bash (w/ Rocky Top)
Cruise Control
Encore:
I'm Freaking Out
Country House Shuffle

Great to hear the old Yardbirds track Shapes of Things, done as only the Dregs can do it. I was surprsied they played that one. You know, Ian Paice played on that track when he was in Gary Moore's band! Couldn't stick around after the show this time, but it was a good one! Bet the band plays out here again next Jan., the never ending NAMM tour!
