Last night I was one of the mix of lucky souls to witness a truly great
night. fortuitous to see Mr. Mc fadden and his unique look of Rasta Priest
meets City cool open for the Dregs. His sound is even more hard to define
and as this was first time hearing him I was greatly impressed with his
eclectic set and his tight energetic band. He is very good at his craft.
I have seen the Dregs in various forms since the early days. I used to play
them on college radio at KFJC in 1979! Last night was the BEST and HAPPIEST
I have ever seen them. They played an intense set that was both hard core
and joyous. They Kicked ass last night. With the addition of (2) Mahavishnu
toons (written by Mr. Goodman), the set was about as technical and furious
as can be played, never mind the category. John Mc Laughlin would have been
impressed to be sure. If you can go see this incarnation, don't miss it!
