29 Apr 2003, Toad's Place, New Haven, CT, USA
Skipping down the steps of The Colony Hotel, breathing
in the warm spring day, flowers in hair, biding my
time....I get around the corner and WHOA! What a line!
Still a while till doors open, too!
Thought this was a stong night for Psuedopod. The
Aussie did a great job blowing that 1939 sax, and they
finished the set with a Doobie Bros tune, which was
cool.
The Dregs again kicked butt, as is the norm! I was
glad to see the place so packed, especially after the
NJ turnout, though the price is lack of dancing room!
At the end of the gig, when Steve was pick tossin', a
guy handed something pick sized to Steve. I asked him
what it was, and he told me it was an arrowhead he
found. Told him that was a great present! Apparently
he found it at the construction site in MD he's
currently working at.
Strolled back to my hotel, with a bit of sadness
coming on... tomorrow eve in Boston will be the last
Dixie Dregs gig for me on this leg, and I'm aware of
the withdrawals I will soon have to face! (sigh)
