STEVE MORSE - "SECTS, DREGS & ROCK 'N' ROLL" DVD
A review by Gary Herman

I received the Steve Morse DVD shipped from Down Under just before Christmas.. a very nice present. First impressions:

1/ Morse, Larue and T. Lavitz at the Bottom Line NYC 1992: The best segment. Great performances by all, excellent mixing and sound quality. Steve amazing on "Tumeni Notes'.. and interesting to hear the sequenced backup keyboards and drums on "Get It in Writing".

2/ Dixie Dregs at Toad's Place.. very disappointed by the audio mix. Jerry Goodman's violin is front and center at all times.. and Steve's guitar is buried! It's not supposed to sound like Jerry Goodman and the Dregs backup band!

3/ Great interview by the Guitar Show. Learned some things I never knew about Steve.

4/ Have never seen Steve with Deep Purple.. I'm so used to seeing him hunkered over his guitar, it was funny to see him running around on stage like that..

Overall.. this is a must-have for Morse and Dregs fans.. and a real bargain to boot.
