Rush and the Steve Morse Band, Providence Civic Center, Thursday night.
The most exciting music of the evening came from the Steve Morse Band, who
managed to combine Mahavishnu-style guitar blitz, lovely balladry, Led Zepellin
quotations and a superb drum solo in a single instrumental piece that concluded
their brief opening set. The song, "Cruise Control," offered more musical variety in
10 minutes than Rush managed to produce in 120.
