I have written over ten times!

1) Is Steve A Strict vegetarian (no meat, poultry or fish) ?
2) If yes, for how many years?
3) Does Steve support kindness animals?

I have over thirty Steve CD's(solo, dregs, purple). Please respond to my question!

A perplexed but diehard fan.

I love animals, but in that hypocritical way that allows me to eat them or their products on a semi regular basis. On the road, I tend to eat very little meat, but rely on bread and cheese to keep me from getting any food poisoning.

I have cared for and helped raise animals, and have adopted strays, etc, but only have a few fish in a tiny pond now since I travel so much.

I once contributed a song to a PETA cd, but became disillusioned with the image of that organization that some of the radical members tried to convey afterward. Partly because my brother is a cancer research scientist who needs to use live rats, and has had people interfere with his work. I have seen too many people die of cancer, too.

I'm not a hunter, but I'm friends with Ted Nugent, and my son hunts. I guess I am pretty middle of the road when it comes to eating or not eating meat.

Love those guitar sounds on the Living Loud project. How did you get that tone? New amps change in guitars different recording techniques? Inquiring minds want to know?

I think a lot of it had to do with Darren (Schneider, producer -ed). He brought some tube pre amps, plus we used a little bit of the Line 6 Pod. Interestingly, since the guitar was tuned down one half step, I thought the Carvin Legacy (Steve Vai model) worked the best with the Marshall 800 cab. I normally use the Peavey Scorpion speakers with the Carvin, or the 4x10 Carvin open back, but it just worked out for these songs best this way.

Advantages of the Legacy head were clarity, not too much midrange to get in the way........... (but I like more midrange than normal people can handle.) Darren and Bob had very producerlike opinions with no inhibitions about speaking up, so my normal tone was changed a bit. A pleasure to work with them, too, since they were so attentive and quick to note changes.

Having been recently introduced to your music I was immediately drawn to your classical stylings. I have been an guitar player for almost 15 years and have never felt more inspired. I really love to listen to the guitar bass duets, like Point Counterpoint and Flat Baroque. Recently I begun lessons on the classical guitar and I am beginning to work on some of the pieces that are available on your website - Thank you! I was wondering if you can recommend any other pieces to work on that may be similar to your style or tastes. Or perhaps some classical pieces that you may have found enjoyable and/or rewarding during your studies at the University of Miami? Thanks again, and when can we expect an entire album of classical or classical styled works?

I started with a nice book titled something like "beginning classical guitar for adults". Can't find it to get the author, but it had simple pieces such as a solo cello phrase by Bach, and some Rennaissance pieces by John Dowland, I think. The point is that they all sounded nice, and weren't nursery rhymes. I'll keep looking for that book, and send the full info to my ace webmaster, Daniel, if I can locate it.

No plans for a classical album, but with guys like Manuel Barrueco around, you shouldn't listen to anyone but him for that kind of playing! Incredible.
