The samples I have heard show extreme musicial "expressions" on parts of all of the SMB, and those in the recording seats did an excellent job of bringing forth another SMB collage.
Reason why I am critical on this maybe is more so a reaction from the technology ensued these days than an actual ear towards the intent of CD.
I would have liked to hear an acoustic intro in "Busy Bodies" followed up by the sweet taste of progressive SMB.
Each musician plays their part in the band, and regardless how super Morse harnesses the strings to march his strong horse like melodies in fashion, there comes an expansion question. How do you expand your band to fulfill the colors the guitar just can not grasp.
Satriani has done experimentation in the techno realm with outstanding success despite the bitter taste by many guitar lovers towards that venue.
